Description
The Georgetown University School of Nursing seeks a full-time educator track faculty to provide expert teaching and professional role modeling in our Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs. Georgetown offers two DNP pathways. The BSN to DNP pathway includes four specialization areas - Adult Gerontology/Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG-ACNP), Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Nurse-Midwifery/Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (NM/WHNP) and Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP)]. There is also a post-master's DNP pathway that is focused on health systems leadership. Coursework is completed in a hybrid format, with on-site executive or clinical intensives conducted in Washington, DC.
Responsibilities

Didactic instruction for seminar courses for the DNP scholarly project -
Redesign and management of the DNP scholarly project process and curriculum -
Coordinate faculty mentorship assignment for DNP Scholarly Projects -
Serve as DNP project mentor for students with aligned areas of interest -
Participation in research, scholarly, and service activities -
Participation in program meetings and departmental, school, and university committees is required -
Continuation in active practice as defined by AACN is preferred
The Department is seeking a creative, energetic and seasoned faculty member to be part of the doctoral nursing program.
Required Qualifications
-
Hold an earned doctoral degree in nursing or related subject -
Hold a masters degree in nursing if terminal degree is not in nursing -
Hold, or be eligible for RN and/or APRN (if applicable) licensure in the District of Columbia (DC), and in home state if not a resident in Washington, DC*.
*The position is flexible, but the ideal work arrangement for the program is hybrid, with up to two or three days on-site in Washington, DC.

Hold current national board certification in specialty area -
Have experience in an advanced nursing role (i.e. APRN, nurse executive, etc.) -
Have experience in the development, teaching and administration of DNP educational courses/programs
Preferred Qualifications

Be eligible for rank at Assistant, or preferably, Associate/Full professor standing at Georgetown University -
Have an active, incremental record of scholarship -
Have experience teaching in a hybrid and/or distance-based education format -
Hold or plan to pursue national fellowship designation aligned with AACN's list of "important academic achievements in nursing" -
Have excellent interpersonal skills
Academic rank will be offered commensurate with education and experience.This faculty position is held on the Educator track at Assistant or Associate Professor rank with scholarship, teaching and service expectations with the following time commitments:
- Teaching (50%) DNP Program & area of expertise
- Administration & Service (40%) DNP Program administration and Regional/National/International Leadership
- Scholarship (10%)
The projected salary pay range for this position is Assistant Professor $105,000 - $115,000 or Associate Professor $118,000 - $140,000, which represents the full range of anticipated compensation for this position. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
